Modex 2022 is one of the most popular trade shows for the supply chain industry, and is just a few weeks away. With over 850 tech innovations on display and a great lineup of speakers, there will be plenty to keep you busy inside the Georgia World Conference Center. If you have time to explore the city, the team at Plastic Pallet Pros want to share a few of our favorite things to make your stay in Atlanta epic.
Our first priority when planning our stay is to download the Modex expo app. We find having access to event schedules on our phones ensures we get the most out of the showroom, on-floor seminars and other events. After we have mapped out our key interests it is time to work some food and fun into our schedule.
Where should I eat in Atlanta?
One of the best perks to traveling is the opportunity to eat new and local foods. There are three places we always make time for when in Atlanta. If you love a classic, delicious steak you’ve got to make reservations at Morton’s Steakhouse. Located within a mile and walking distance from the GWCC, Morton’s offers diners a world class filet and the best macaroni and cheese in North America.
If you are craving a more southern meal you should go for fried chicken. We think Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken inside The Mall at Peachtree Center will hit the spot. This chicken will transport you right back to Grandma’s kitchen. Your Grandma didn’t make you fried chicken? Ours didn’t either, not like this anyway.
And lastly, if your group can’t decide on any one cuisine, head straight to Municipal Market. Here you’ll find eateries for soul food, tacos, philly cheesesteaks and so much more. It’s a must have experience when in Atlanta.
What should I do when in Atlanta?
If the weather cooperates, enjoy some fresh air at Centennial Olympic Park located downtown near the World of Coca-Cola. There is no better location to get a beautiful photograph of the city skyline. This park was originally created for the 1996 Olympics. On Tuesdays during the lunch hour there are free concerts in the amphitheater
For the young and young at heart a visit to The Center for Puppetry Arts is a perfect pitstop. This unique museum is like a walk down memory lane. Home to many of our favorite childhood characters, guests to the museum will see over 350 puppets from around the world as well as shows tailored for adults and children alike.
If you and your team need some time for fun and games a trip out to Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is a great hangout. You can bowl, go-cart, experience a thrilling simulator or try your hand in the arcade. Take your appetite. The menu in the Andretti is available for lunch and dinner and they offer so much more than concession stand food.
Whether you have a lot or a little bit of down time while attending the Modex 2022 expo show we think making time to enjoy Atlanta is beneficial.
